“I can lie in the sun all day.”

Grass is for running!

I love running on the grass. Anytime we get to an open field with no roads and I get to go off leash, I run around and smell all the good things left behind. The park by Joanna’s is mainly grass so children can kick big balls or hit little white balls and run around like me and Izzy.

Most days its just a small group of friends, but sometimes we get visited by a playful puppy. The other day, we met this fun mutt a little bigger than me. I don’t know what she is, but the same goes for The Dude, who looks similar but The Dude is all black and this friend is all white.

Next thing Izzy jumps over both of us and takes off so off we go at a full sprint into imaginary turns and here and there then back again and around we chase. Izzy is so fast she can double back and “ping” she’s gone.

Izzy drops in the shade and lays her belly on the cool. I run up and nuzzle her with a slight push. The new friend circles us, pauses, fakes a left, right, left and off she goes with Izzy close behind.

Now, that smells good.

A voice calls and the white mutt takes off toward her pack. Johnnie calls and I stop, look back at him then at Izzy who runs with the white mutt then circles back and leaps over me so I chase her back to our group where snacks are at hand. I love pepperoni.
